The Sobering Up Unit is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.


•Provide a safe, care oriented environment in which persons found intoxicated in public may sober up
•Provide a flexible and responsive service that include timely intervention
•Provide culturally appropriate services
•Provide a continuation of care for clients
•Provide intervention at the earliest point of crises
•Provide a service integration model of care to clients
•Assess and intake clients with complex needs
•Provide immediate services to protect the safety and wellbeing of clients
•Provide intervention, referral and support services for children presenting with clients


The unit is staffed at all times by two persons.
